Mankato Family YMCA
Private
The Mankato Family YMCA runs a summer day camp for children in kindergarten through 5th grade, with field trips, themed games, sports, crafts and active outdoor play. Camp runs by the week from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM; campers bring a cold lunch from home. Programming is built around the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect and faith, and financial assistance is available so cost is not a barrier.

Powered by GoogleIf I only could find a negative star scale. It definitely would be a - 5 or more. But to show how poor this place is I had to put a 1 to register. Was told I would definitely qualify for there scholarship due to me being a 100 % disabled combat veteran for a great discount on my FAMILY PLAN for my entire family. Jumped.thru hoops. For 3 weeks of no calls ,no emails, I walked in severral times. Always was told the lady in charge of that was never in. And would notify me. Man the disgust on my face when I again walked in today and wow. She was actually at the front desk. To be told. Ohh you didnt qualify. And that it also was told to me when we talked in person. So. Let stop there. HUGE MISTAKE. dont lie. I never spoke with this individual.about it would be only my account .paperwork i checked family plan. 😡😡😡 It was a male I spoke with at front desk and told that she would be in and handle the paperwork. Holy smokes this place is a RIP OFF I always thought YMCA was a good place and was really there to help. Well guess its more about the $$$$$$$ ... so after the whole sympathy of ohhh you didnt qualify we felt bad. So she quoted i was going to receive a 20% discount. I was like ohh. Ok. Ready to pay. Then she said ohhh no thats just for you. You only qualified. Hmmm i filled out a form that said FAMILY PLAN . Now you want me to pay more for my family. What in the actual HELL excuse me...wow again which to my suprise another lie. Bc my email i finally found in my spam. Qouted only a 10% discount 🤣🤣🤣 She said ya we spoke and I told you it was just for you...so back to earlier. I never spoke to this woman. Period. I would highly recommend AVOIDING THIS PLACE. . Im so disgusted with her and your facility. I almost died. Protecting this country and our freedoms. Your freedoms. . To get this kind of treatement. And disrespect. Like you should be ASHAMED. and whats funny is I can go to another facility that offers me a FAMILY PLAN for way less. Without a discount.!!!!!!
If the Y ever wonders why there has been fights during men’s league basketball. It’s the refs. They allow players to hit, pinch and slap other players. Multiple weeks I have left with bruises, scratches and once a black eye. All without receiving any calls. On top of that the older ref gave me a tech for asking a question. I didn’t raise my voice, complain or swear I simply walked away after he asked what my name was(after not understanding why he was asking). I asked why I received the tech at halftime. He said because he didn’t like how the conversation went but then confirmed I was respectful. These refs are the reason people get hurt, please hire better refs
I cannot recommend this place enough. Not only is there a ton of stuff for my kid to do while I work out, but we connected with some wonderful people for summer camp! My kiddo loves going and we stop in a few times a week for her to hang out in one of their many gyms, sitting areas, play area--wherever! The pool hours and maintenance can be hard to keep track of but that's just how some things are. Also, the staff know my kiddo so I feel way safe letting her relax with other kids or by herself in a court or table.
Staff was very kindan helpful. A plus that they had a basketball court. The facility is a little dated but overall it has the basics for a good workout.
I recently visited the YMCA in Mankato and it was phenomenal. Everyone there helped me check in and showed me where everything was. The locker room was spacious. The gym was very well-organized, with plenty of space despite being close together, which I really liked. I would definitely go back every time I work out. I went to the pool, and they showed me where it was. They offered towels, and the pool wasn’t too deep. There were two big pools—one for swimming and another one for everyone. They also had a hot tub which I enjoyed. I was very impressed that they had a waterslide, although I didn’t get to use it. Nonetheless, it looked amazing, and I had a lot of fun. After my workout, I went to the sauna and it was amazing. It felt so good to relax there. Everything was indoors, and there were various levels and gyms with a lot of different activities available. I also noticed they had a teen week, which I believe was only for a week, but I really liked that they had their own space. My relatives would’ve loved having that available to them. Overall, a fantastic experience!
