The Macon Area Tennis Association (MATA) is one of Georgia's oldest community tennis associations, based at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. It runs after-school tennis programs and an NJTL program for elementary students in under-resourced areas. A dedicated summer camp could not be confirmed.

This organization controls, administers, all tennis in the middle Georgia area through the USTA (United States Tennis Association) utilizing online registration called TennisLink which is the registration system developed by the USTA. Macon Tennis Association now known as MATA (Macon Area Tennis Association). This organization sends winning teams to state championship tournaments all over Georgia. Sometimes these teams do well enough to compete in sectional and national tournaments. It's a lot of fun. I have been doing this for over 54 years. Tennis is my addiction; I can't get enough. I love it and can't get enough of it. Keeps me healthy and in touch with so many people. Try it, you too will love it!!!
