The LUX Center for the Arts is a Lincoln nonprofit art center offering summer art camps from June through early August for kids who have completed kindergarten through age 15. Campers explore ceramics, painting, and drawing with working artists, grouped as Kids (5–8), Youth (9–11), and Teens (12–15).

I loved my 2D oil painting class with Alex Renbarger, she is a skilled artist and a kind soul. None of us in the class wanted the class to end. I'd highly recommend her and Lux in general. They have many different classes for anyone at any skill level.

They’re free to walk through, they have a wide variety of unique art on display with most from Nebraska artists. They have a community art exhibit, and an artists alley that anybody can paint in. They have regularly rotating exhibits, but I’ve been three times during the current run and found/noticed/felt different things each time. They also have workshops and classes and events, and though I haven’t been to any yet I certainly plan to. They also have easy parking, and are in a great area for art in general, as well as coffee and food. I’ll definitely be a regular going forward.

I attended First Friday, which was a lot of fun...and there are free refreshments and Hor D'ouvres of course. I highly recommend this art center for classes and events. I also purchased some unique pottery which I could not resist.
