I was at Luther crest June 27th for a family reunion but had to leave within 2 hours of being there due to being in labor. I delivered my daughter in Alexandria the next day. I received a baby onesie and congrats card in the mail today from Luther crest. Very thankful for this awesome place!

I went last summer. I didn't grow in my faith at all, and the only reason I had fun was because I made friends. It was a pretty good camp experience for my first camp, but I don't think I will be coming back.

2022: We just got home from this years family camp weekend. I will say that Luther Crest did a really nice job this year. The staff was well trained, friendly, respectful, and fun. We felt the atmosphere altogether was a HUGE improvement from last year. It was a good experience again and we are very grateful that the team at Luther Crest worked hard to right a wrong. THANK YOU! If you're looking for a family camp, I can once again recommend Luther Crest. 5 STARS. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2021: Very disappointed. We just returned from a horrible weekend at family camp. (2 adults and 5 kids, ages 6-16) First off, let me say that we attended 2 years ago, in 2019, and were very impressed that year. The staff that first weekend was amazing. The activities and food were also great. There was tons of talk of Jesus, Bible dives, adult Bible studies, and more. Overall amazing atmosphere our first year. This year, our experience was horrible. We immediately let them know we couldn't wear masks. Our counselor said no problem. At snack that first evening, we were pulled aside by two other staff/counselors and told we would have to eat last for the rest of the weekend and we wouldn't be allowed in the building until everyone else had gotten their food and were out. (Dining was outside after that initial snack.) So at the following meals, we were ostracized and kept waiting 25 minutes after meal time before being allowed to eat. While frustrating, we dealt with it. With that said, all the other families were allowed to go in after us for seconds AFTER we went through PLUS several only put on masks initially and then left them OFF whenever re-entering the building with no reprimanding or penalties. The final straw was today at brunch. Dozens of people were allowed to enter the building and get their food without masks. Even when our kids answered a trivia question that nobody else could, the counselor said 'but you have to wait and be last'. (They were 'choosing' families to go in as trivia questions were answered correctly.) When I pointed out that others went in without masks, she ran in to 'check' and then came back saying all had put masks on now. (When we were finally allowed to enter, we found this to NOT be true as many of those people were standing around and just chatting -not eating- without masks.) However, the most hypocritical part is that almost HALF the staff/counselors who made us go last all weekend were walking around without their masks! This included the counselor (Carly) who was one of the two that pulled us aside on day 1 and made the rule that we had to be last without a mask. This year, activities were also less. Fewer games, fewer crafts, no animals, no group gym time, etc. We found most of the counselors to be less engaged overall throughout the weekend from our first visit as well. (Although initially after check-in, they were very welcoming and engaging with games and talking to guests. It tapered off after that first night.) We were also very disappointed in the lack of Christian teachings, etc. Disney music was played all weekend everywhere.....(not sure why they didn't have worship songs on). Very little mention of Jesus other than at the one Bible study/Bible dive. The 'prayer' before meals was just a cutesy little memorized rhyme as opposed to anything heartfelt or genuine. It truly didn't feel like a religious camp. Sadly, I don't think we'll be back after this experience and the treatment we received from this 'Christian' camp. EDITED TO ADD: Camp has reached out and we've spoken about our experience. I am hopeful that the changes they plan to implement will ensure this won't happen to another family. We had such a great experience 2 years ago that I pray all future campers will leave Luthercrest renewed in Christ and have nothing but fond memories from their time at camp.

I attended a youth event at Luther Crest and it was just a wonderful facility! It's an absolutely delightful camp with lots of comforts and charm! There was a great rec room with foosball and air hockey beneath the mess hall which, by the way, serves fantastic meals and has a large deck overlooking the lake for outdoor meals. Also within the mess hall is a seating area with couches by a fireplace. In the Recreation center, there is a basketball court/gym, classroom, nature center, and theater. The chapel sanctuary is lovely and has a nice sound and lighting system! It also has a couple of couches near a fireplace to sit and visit or to just relax and spend some time in quiet reflection. The cabins are cozy and are furnished with bunk beds. A real plus is that there is a bathroom and a shower in the cabins. No need to find your flashlight, get your shoes on and wake up a buddy (because darkness and nature equal doom! Ha!) to make a quick bathroom trip in the middle of the night! I know the camp has other facilities and activities but, since my visit was in the very early spring and the ice wasn't even off the lake, they weren't available to experience.

We were there for two days for the Lake Carlos camp for visually impaired. The kids had a blast. The camp was very receptive to all of the disabilities. The food was great, rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very bubbly and helpful.
