Loveland Youth Gardeners is a Northern Colorado nonprofit, started in 1996, that runs youth programs on an urban farm combining horticultural therapy, environmental education and skill building. Its summer Day Camps serve ages 6-10 with nature scavenger hunts, nature-based art and STEAM projects, group games and learning notebooks, at $25 per child with a $50 per family maximum per camp. A separate Youth Gardening Program for teens ages 13-18 facing barriers to success has students grow their own gardens, take field trips, run a roadside farm stand and donate pesticide-free produce, earning a work stipend twice each summer plus science and community-service credit.
