Longview Tennis Club, run by the nonprofit Duluth Friends of Tennis, offers youth tennis programming in Duluth, including the invitation-only Longview Tennis Camp, an eight-week summer program for competitive junior players aiming for or already on high school teams. ★★L WitteThe courts are great, but the tennis club and their friends monopolize them . Yes they pay a fee to the city for priority use, but they make it hard for others outside their group to get court time. Then there are the other groups that grab up all the courts, that claim they have approval from the club, but good luck trying to find that information on any formal schedule. Funded by city tax dollars we all pay, but a small group with plenty of money to play to play at a private club or have their own private courts gets the privilege to use it most of the time.
