Sending my children to camp for the first time was a huge step for me as a mom, especially as a single mother, and I can honestly say that Long Lake Camp Adventures exceeded every expectation. My daughter was 14 and my son was 12 when they attended for three weeks, and they truly had the time of their lives. They felt safe, free, happy, and at home. They made memories, tried new things they never imagined they would try, and got to experience activities they were excited about as well. Most importantly, they were fully engaged, growing, and having fun every day. One of the things I appreciated most was the communication. The counselors were wonderful, and I always felt comfortable checking in whenever I needed reassurance. I also loved the weekly calls and being able to speak with my children during their stay. Another amazing touch was the photos. Seeing candid pictures of both my daughter and son enjoying themselves brought me so much peace. Those photos truly gave me life because I could genuinely see how happy they were and how much fun they were having. I also deeply appreciated the limited cell phone access. It allowed the kids to be present, connected to the experience, and focused on friendships, activities, and learning instead of screens. The administrative team was also incredible. They helped me through all the paperwork and documents and truly worked with me to make sure my children could attend camp. That kindness and support made a lasting impact on me and my family. I went to camp as a young girl, and it had a significant positive impact on my life. Being able to give that same experience to my own children meant everything to me. I will always be grateful that Long Lake Camp Adventures worked with me to help make it possible. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire staff, counselors, owners, and everyone involved. My kids are already looking forward to going back this year. Highly recommend. I was looking for a summer adventure for my 12 year old nephew and I found a couple I thought he would like and that seemed a better option than spending the summer playing video games in his room. After we talked about what his interests were etc, he actually found Long Lake after searching for a camp offering Blacksmithing. My nephew had never attended a camp of any sort or spent more than 1 night maybe 1 mile away from his home at a friends house. Literally, 1 night is all he was willing to do. We were a little hesitant but after talking with the folks at Long Lake and participating in the Tuesday night zoom meetings, we got his parent's okay and my nephew ended up having an experience he will always remember. He spent 3 weeks this past summer (2025), more than 5 hours away from home and loved every minute of it. Pros: The people running the camp know what they are doing. They make everything very easy. The whole enrollment process is very efficiently set up and they cover everything....what you should bring, how to get there, rules, activity options, health / emergency, everything. When my nephew left every question we had, had been answered and we felt confident in their experience hosting kids. I called numerous times for help or clarification and everyone I spoke with was incredibly helpful and friendly. Arrival was fast, drop and leave just like kindergarten but at least once a week his parents got a call to let them know how he was doing and so he could talk with them. They post pictures so we could see some of his adventures. He looked happy and frankly, was participating in things he had said he would probably pass on. When we picked him up, I couldn't believe how excited he was not just to see us but to show us around and share with us what he had been doing. My nephew is normally a kid who talks when he has something to say otherwise he is pretty quiet. The day we picked him up, he was effervescent. He had been excited about blacksmithing but ended up really enjoying woodworking and building. The counselors really seemed to enjoy interacting with the kids, getting them involved and excited. Cons: I asked him what he liked best about the camp....he literally listed all the things he did, the counselors ( a couple really stood out for him), the kids he met, the food (combination really good, pretty good and once in while like school cafeteria) and I could go on. I think he talked a good 15 /20 minutes telling us stuff he liked about the camp. I next asked him what he didn't like or would have wanted to be different...Dead Silence....for like 5 minutes at which point I said okay, this was a win. It is now October and when asked he still can't really come up with something he didn't like about the camp. I truly feel after talking with him on numerous occasions, the people who run this camp and work at this camp really want these kids to have a great experience and it really makes a difference. He was encouraged to try new things, he felt safe and he had a great time. If we weren't sure this had been a great experience further proof came when a couple of teachers asked his grandmother out of the blue, when she was dropping something off to school for him, if he had done something different over the summer? They had commented that although he has always been a good kid and nice to have in class, they had noticed he seems to have more confidence in himself. That he is interacting and participating more in class and with others. He is more open and self assured. For us this camp was an extravagance. We all chipped in, Aunts, brothers and Grandparents, to make it happen and not a single one of us are disappointed with the time and money spent. I can honestly say, it was more than just a fun time, he grew. I will say it just in case, We highly recommend Long Lake Camp.

My daughter (9) went for her first summer in 2025 and had the best experience! She made new friends and got to experience so many new things. The highlight for me as her mom was watching her climb to the top of the climbing tower. The confidence I see in her since this experience is invaluable.

We have been a Long Lake Camp Adventure family for several years. My kids love their summers at camp and I love that everyone from the counselors to the owners know them and look out for them. My son spends most days in the garage and has really learned a lot about cars and my daughter spends her days outside at waterfront. Our 10 year old daughter attended the Long Lake Camp Adventures last summer and had the time of her life! She met wonderful people, made good friends, and immersed herself in fun. She got to go four wheeling, hiking, horseback riding and go on the high ropes course. She did cheerleading, jewelry making, crafting, and swimming. And she even experienced a little farm life (she loved the baby chicks and rabbits). Her most favorite activity was the special effects makeup and she even brought her mask home that she made. Where in the world can you do all of these things (and more)? Long Lake Camp Adventures! The genuinely caring staff made her feel right at home and she never felt homesick or sad. There was too much fun happening! Looking forward to hearing all about her adventures this summer too, because of course she wants to go again!
