It's really outdated and beat up but every one there were really great hosts and embassadors I sincerely look forward to finding reasons to attend more community events here they kept it clean as you could hope for and it was totally handicap and child friendly the parking sucks cause it's downtown and you gotta just find somewhere street side in the neighborhood but the size events they hold, it wasn't all that inconvenient to be honest but say I had to push someone in a wheelchair or a child in a stroller yeah that's something to consider for sure

Santa Cruz Fungus Fair 2026 was a huge disappointment! We came from far away for the last hour or the exhibition, bought the tickets at 4.15 (the exhibition was to be open till 5 pm on Sunday) and as soon as we walked in, they started taking all the mushrooms away!!!! It was not even 4.30 yet!!! The kids are crying. It was only one smallish room of mushrooms and the people working there could not wait till 5 pm! I tried asking them to wait removing the mushrooms and they ignored me. We are sitting back in the car with the crying kids now (they got upset by the mushrooms displays being in the process of being disassembled and we had to leave) it’s 4.44, and most of the mushrooms as were were leaving without seeing them are gone!!! The whole room is full of busy people cleaning, it was supposed to be a special event for us. If it closes at 4, that is what it should say! Not have people plan to be there for the last hour to enjoy the show and instead come to a cleanup! :( Extremely disappointed. Also, the show room was still FULL of people trying to see the mushrooms, it’s not like we were even the last ones!

London Nelson Community Center is a true gem in the heart of the community! The staff are welcoming, kind, and genuinely care about creating a space where everyone feels included. The building itself has a lot of character and history, and it’s always alive with activity—from youth programs and art classes to neighborhood events and celebrations. What stands out most is how much effort goes into making sure people of all ages and backgrounds feel connected. The facilities are well-kept and the atmosphere is positive and full of community spirit. The only small improvement I’d love to see is maybe more parking or extended hours for certain programs—but overall, it’s an inspiring place that really brings people together. Grateful for the impact London Nelson Community Center continues to make—it’s the heart of the Neighborhood.
