Powered by GoogleBeen lifting and saunaing here for many years. Great place, great staff.
It’s too bad Logan Health had to come along and stamp their name “Logan Health Fitness” on The Summit. Been going here off and on since the place opened, was much better when it was The Summit. Now it has the feel of an extension of the hospital. One big issue is for the cost, and it’s not cheap to have a membership- they prefer you to do a 12 month contract but the registration fee is $270 for a family of three. Ridiculously high especially considering a few things: the towels they provide are a joke. It’s like doing your shower and sauna with a little hand towel. LH could absolutely afford to get all new towels that are big enough to wrap around anyone. On top of that the showers are dated, you can’t get warm water in all of the showers only some. Hang Time for kids to try out/get time on the climbing wall is too limited- it’s offered only one evening a week. Open swim times are seriously lacking. Only 2x during the week there’s a short 1.5 hours of open swim, the third time is 1 hour 15 min. More on weekends but there really needs to be more Open Swim sessions available (maybe just 2-3 laps during some* of the lap swim times?) for our family to be willing to pay a $270 reg fee for three of us.
I have paid for my grandchildren's membership for several years. I was to be in town for several months and wanted to have a place to shower on my vacation. Logan Health Fitness Center lacked the common sense to know that the person who is paying for a membership should also be allowed to shower there. It's not exploitative in any way, that would simply be three people utilizing the facility. It's that lack of human judgment that I simply cannot support... one must be intelligent enough to know when to bend the rules and make an exception.
I liked this gym when I first starting coming here. I don’t like contracts. I found it ridiculous that I had to pay $100 monthly simply because I didn’t want to sign a contract. But I did it. Every single month without complaint. I was practically here everyday for almost 3 years. All was good until this lady (not sure who she is). Came up to me stating my payment never went through. Which confused me because, I don’t enter the gym until the payment is even made. I realized for the month they were referring to. I went to Hawaii for the entire month. So why would I need the entire month for a membership? Realizing that before I left. I paid for a 1 day pass. At $15 dollars. Yet again, absolutely ridiculous price. I digress. Someone messed up and pro rated 1 month. I didn’t ask for this. It was a mistake. But I didn’t say a word. You got your money. I should have complained, but I didn’t. The problem wasn’t this. It was the way it was handled. She came out and spoke to me as if I was hiding from them or something!! Can you freaking believe that??? I was so shocked!! I never say this, but lady I make more money than your entire office staff COMBINED. You think I’m worried about YOU!?Stating she called me a bunch of times as if I was IGNORING HER! I can’t leave a good review in good conscious. Not too mention the amenities can never be used. Sure, you have a pool. But if you have a full time job. Good luck using it when it’s not being used by the swimming team, or open swim, or some type of event that nobody real cares about. Not leaving any spaces open for others. The staff in the weight room are so rude. I’ve never seen them help anyone. EVER! Constantly have bad attitude, and look rude as can be. This is stated by EVERYONE that goes here. The only reason you have any business is because you’re a small town. If this gym was anywhere else in the world, it would have went out of business by now. No way they could keep up with a quality gym. I came here practically every day for 3 years. I know what I’m talking about. Practically everyone agrees with what I’ve said above. But who cares right? Extremely small town, and the only choice you have! So thankful my work stent is done here. I will NEVER be back. Now that I’m back in a world that I know I’ve realized this. The staff, and the people who attend are amazing. I’m talking about my new gym, with a quality experience. Faaaaar from this gym. I’m an outgoing person. But I didn’t care to give any part of my personality to those here. Which is truly unfortunate for you. Good luck! Edit: came back to read through some of the comments. This issue isn’t deranged customers. It’s absolutely, an ownership/management issues. They are the ones to blame. I don’t know how anyone in this type of position can sleep at night. Knowing they do such a horrible job.
One of the young blonde girls that is at the front desk sometimes when you walk in is very rude each time she is at the desk and has no customer service so it surprises me she is at the desk. She seems to be bothered and always sharp to the guests and myself by simple questions or interactions. I have never had an enjoyable time walking in when she is there.
