Lil' Bit of Life is a family-owned urban miniature-horse and animal farm in Mount Dora that hosts educational kids' camps and a 'farm school,' plus a Pony Pals Club that teaches young children to ride. Camp and program activities give kids hands-on responsibility caring for miniature horses, goats, sheep, pigs, and other animals while building confidence and leadership skills. Every animal we interact with is gentle, kind, and incredibly patient—even with excited little toddlers in their spaces and faces. The volunteers — made up of mostly children and young adults— are also so sweet and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy being there, which really reflects the heart and leadership behind the farm. We’re so grateful that the owners open their gates to the community, and go above and beyond to offer fun themed events. Open farm days are seriously the best and so much fun! I’d go without my kids if I had a sitter :-D It’s a wonderful place for families, and it also provides such a great opportunity for children and tweens to volunteer and learn how to care for animals, work hard, and manage responsibilities. We’re already looking forward to going back!

★★★★★Michael BassOur youth group from Trinity Church of Opelika, AL had the wonderful opportunity to serve on a 3-day mission at the farm—and we loved every moment of it! During our time there, we built a run-through stall for the older horses, cleared and burned a large fallen oak branch, gave the horse fence a fresh coat of paint, painted a mural on one of the barns, and spread mulch along the main walkway where the animals stay. This farm does incredible work, and we were honored to lend a hand. Thank you, Rod and Tracey, for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of such meaningful service!
