This is about the one place in this dying town that still offers activities and services for people of all ages. The staff is friendly and courteous. They do have in house Library cats, they're loveable and well behaved cats.

A lovely old home now a library with an attached arts center/intimate concert venue. Lots of local history resources. Conveniently located on the common with its own parking lot. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Worth a visit just for the architecture.

Very functional space for the various arts and crafts classes offered at the Library Arts Center in Newport, NH. So far I've only taken basket weaving classes at the Arts Center. The instructor is a League of NH Craftsmen juried artist. Class participants choose from a variety of baskets* for the day-long workshop...students walk out with a basket woven with their own 2 hands! When the class participants arrive in the morning, all the supplies are set up at your workspace and the instructor gets everyone started and then goes around one-on-one with guidance. Very relaxed, fun atmosphere. *The instructor is also very opened to other design ideas and making adjustments.
