Lamar Arts
Private
Lamar Arts is the county arts council for Lamar County, operating a gallery and arts center inside the restored Barnesville Depot. Its youth programming runs mainly as the Create-A-Palooza series of short classes and workshops taught by local artists across drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, resin and other media, including sessions aimed at K-3rd graders. The organization has also hosted summer camps in the performing and visual arts and a summer musical theater production, though current camp dates and hours are not published.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Lamar Arts directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

The staff was nice, and the paintings and art were pretty, but this place sells AI art. In an ART museum 😭 And it's ridiculously overpriced too, for something that took two seconds to generate and then print, and that no one put any work into. It's really sad to see, and really disappointing for any artist :(
Very nice Gentleman I met today very welcoming Beautiful art works , hopefully I’ll go back next time when passing through the city of Barnesville .
Good to see photos, bios, and things I remember as a child on display. We have a story to relay to our youth and so many strong people that made our community become strong despite obstacles of the time
Be sure to put this little gem on your To-Do List when visiting Barnesville. The art gallery features work from local artists. Lots of rarities you truly must see to appreciate. They also hold summer camps! The kids thoroughly enjoyed both the art and theatrical summer camps. Super friendly staff dedicated to making you feel welcome. Definitely will return.
