Powered by GoogleI have been a member of the Lakewood YMCA and have repeatedly noticed unsanitary conditions in the locker room/shower area, including visible mold-like growth, moisture damage, rust, and fungus gnats around the tile and ceiling areas. I brought this to staff’s attention three separate times, but the issue was not properly addressed. Because this is a public facility where members shower and use shared spaces, cleanliness and maintenance should be taken seriously. I ended up reporting the issue to Environmental Public Health so an inspector can look into it. The YMCA has a good mission, but members should not have to keep reporting the same sanitation concerns without action being taken.
The local YMCA was a great experience for my child during spring camp. The staff was friendly, caring, and made the kids feel safe and welcome. There were plenty of fun activities that kept everyone engaged, and my child came home excited every day talking about everything they did. It was a positive experience overall, and I would definitely consider enrolling again.
Always friendly , helpful and clean! All staff are knowledgeable and willing to meet the needs of all guests.
I've been seeking physical therapy with YMCA sports rehab at this location since the beginning of summer. My appointments have been canceled against my will on 3 separate occasions. To seek Therapy at YMCA Lakewood is to be denied even if you're willing to pay cash.
I recently started going to the Y as a benefit through my medicare provider. Facilities are clean and staff is super helpful. Lots of space in the locker rooms with nice hot showers with good water pressure. I am definitely a beginner and started going to the classes recently. Never once have I felt judged, but welcomed. There are a variety of classes to choose from at various hours. It's been a great way to start my mornings. I have not tried the pool yet as I am not yet comfortable in a swimsuit, but hopefully soon. They recently have started offering free mental health counciling for members and it has been helpful for me.
