Lake Yosemite Sailing Association · Private

Lake Yosemite Sailing Association runs a learn-to-sail summer camp for kids ages 8 to 16 at its clubhouse on Lake Yosemite in Merced. Campers sail stable Capri 13 and FJ dinghies alongside experienced junior counselors, learning basic safety, the parts of a boat, rigging, docking, sail trim, steering a steady course, and man-overboard and capsize recovery. Five one-week sessions run across the summer; no prior sailing experience is needed, but campers must know how to swim. The association is a family-oriented volunteer racing and cruising club, and daily camp hours are not published.

As a Sailing Association we were greatful to have the support and open conversation with MID this past week at our generalmembershipmeeting. We look forward to working together soon and continuing the future of a great vision and growth for all of Merced County. Attached are photos of our Chili Cookoff this last weekend as well.

Lake Yosemite is one of my favorite spots. My cousin and I ride our bikes up there all the time. It's a beautiful place to relax and enjoy life. The wild life is amazing. Lots of geese red tail hawks and blue harring and so many different birds. It's a great place to take the kids and relax and maybe swim a little.
