Lake Norman Community Sailing is a nonprofit that runs weekly youth sailing camps each summer from its Community Sailing Center at Blythe Landing in Huntersville, plus spring-through-fall sailing instruction for youth and adults. On-the-water classes use the center's fleet of small boats; youth participants are generally age 15 and up, with ages 12-14 sailing alongside a parent or guardian. Teen volunteers can assist and earn community service hours.

Powered by GoogleI have been intermittently sailing since the age of 18. Currently, I am delighted to be part of the sailing community at Lake Norman, where I have attended 'Learn to Sail' and 'Social Sails' programs. The instructors possess extensive experience, offer valuable guidance, and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge. I am thrilled to have found a supportive environment to hone my skills, expand my knowledge, and grow. The community is warm and welcoming.
I learned to sail here and enjoy the weekly social sails. Everyone I interact with is welcoming and eager to mentor. The current fleet consists of Flying Scots, Sunfish, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards, all are free to use with membership! You can't beat what you get for the cost.
This place is amazing! Great instruction, lots of time on the water sailing, and very encouraging. Wife and I had no sailing experience, at the end of the day, we both felt confident that we could do it by ourselves. We will definitely be joining so we can go solo and learn more. Course of instruction has definitely been well thought out and executed. Thank you to all of the instructors, for a great day!
Great place to learn skills, expand horizons, grow experience with sailing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Broad range of course offerings and experiences for enjoying Lake Norman and beyond. Annual cruise trips on the Chesapeake and weekly events at the center. Your wont be disappointed if you engage and try it out!
This place is amazing. Great value. Unlimited access to different boat sizes, paddle boards, kayaks, rowboats, etc. One year costs less than one month of dockage if you owned your own boat. They also have great training programs, and social sailing and racing events year-round.
