Great place, and amazing sailing community.
Moores Creek is a long time townie favorite. They have the picnic area and an easy walk down to the water, flat rocks to sit on and some wooded areas to hike through. I wish they would do something to the lake to bring the area some entertainment or other benefits. Bring back the Zoom Flume! Allow short term camping, host fishing competitions.... anything! "They" say they want to preserve the natural environment... umm hello the lake is man made you flooded out a whole community to build it so let's not pretend that bringing more benefits to the community is disrupting a natural phenomenon or something. The Army Corps of Engineers, DNR, the county.. could all be making money while providing more diverse options to people wishing to enjoy the area.
Great place and great people willing to help out.
Absolutely the best place to get a slip for your sailboat. A friendly camaraderie exists between you & your fellow sailors even on race day. They have great accommodations with a new updated bathhouse with showers & sheltered picnic tables over looking the a gorgeous view of the lake.
