Powered by GoogleI like this gym. The weight machines, free weights and treadmills are modern and new. The basketball courts are in great shape. The recreational pool and competition pool are kept nicely. Sauna and steam room are decent. I wish they played some music there, just to make it a little lively, but overall it is a good place to work out.
Love the fact that they don't have annoying TVs everywhere or unnecessary music, everybody's listening to their own music or podcasts. Contemporary super cool! Equipment with different options to watch a movie, or play a game, or walk in different settings plenty of natural light, yoga classes, and other classes as well, you can get 24/7 access for just $30. That's a one-time payment for a fob. There is so much going on in this club, the pool is also awesome, they have sauna, pool for the little ones, daycare. Stuff is super friendly.
We love our local YMCA, my daughter attended their summer camp and had a wonderful summer making lots of friends and memories, we plan to send her again next summer! My daughter has also been taking swim lessons since the beginning of the summer and loves them, Mr. David is an amazing swim instructor, you can tell he really cares about the children! We have also tried dance, gymnastics, and cooking classes which have all been wonderful. The pumpkin splash and family fun time with Santa were also fantastic.
Can never use the pool at this location as a gym member to exercise. It's always being occupied by a ridiculous amount of random swim lessons, swim teams, and water-dancing programs. They must let every swim team in North America practice at this pool, lol. Plus the kids tend to just scream and mess around the whole time as kids do. The YMCA does not allocate even 1 lane to member swimmers in the evening hours. I don't understand how there is such a total disregard for regular gym members. If you try to articulate this issue to staff, they'll just treat you like you're crazy. No sense of sharing the pool or allocating space properly, they'd rather just have members be forced to swim four or five people to a single lane during peak evening hours (if you can even get that single lane). Something's got to be fixed, but I doubt it will be. Plenty members agree and complain about it in the sauna and locker rooms. Typical YMCA, just sucks lol. Steep membership price to basically get no access to the pool.
I have an autistic daughter. We are Eastlake residents we use the Huston-Fisher pool. Staff and pool are awesome. I do have a few concerns . Currently the slide is down and my daughter loves it. The handicap chair to get into the pool is broken. It just makes it harder for us to spend the day when things are not working properly. We were told we would get a free day pass . Because pool didn't open when it was supposed to. Asked at desk no one knew anything about it. We love using the pool hopefully things can improve and be repaired. Manager Brian has been wonderful. If he sees us coming in he knows to get the slide up and running. If it's not on yet. He knows my daughter will be upset. It's so nice to see the pool being used and families enjoying it. Hopefully these repairs will be completed.
