We have been attending the “parent&me” swimming program continuously for almost a year since last summer. We really enjoyed the classes, and our child became comfortable in the pool and used to the instructor. Unfortunately, when it was time to renew the classes for the spring session, we were told that there were no spots available and that we would have to take a three-month break. For a small child, this is a very long time, especially when the classes had been part of their regular routine and development. It is very disappointing that there is no system giving priority to families who have been attending regularly and want to continue. As a result, we are forced to interrupt the classes not by our own choice. I hope the school will reconsider its registration system in the future so that long-term students can continue their classes without such long interruptions.

I had a very uncomfortable experience today in the sauna at the Kings Bay Y gym, and I think the management should be aware of it. After swimming, I went into the sauna and sat quietly on the bench. A group of older women were already inside speaking Russian. I wasn’t interacting with anyone. I had just finished swimming for about 50 minutes and had taken a shower, so there was still a bit of water dripping from my body, and I was using a towel to dry my hair a little, which is completely normal after swimming. One of the women then started speaking loudly in Russian while deliberately inserting English words like “Chinese, Japanese, Korean,” and saying things like “so many of them in San Francisco, Chinatown, big groups, very loud,” while looking directly at me. It clearly felt mocking and directed at me. I chose not to respond since I was already tired after my swim and didn’t want to get into an argument. When I got up to leave, they continued making passive-aggressive remarks. One of them pointed near my slippers and sarcastically said, “Look, there are roaches near your slippers.” I didn’t respond and simply left. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in a shared community facility. No member should feel mocked or singled out because of their ethnicity while using the gym. I hope the management is aware that situations like this can make the environment feel hostile and unwelcoming. Community spaces like this should be respectful and inclusive for everyone. I would strongly encourage the gym to reinforce clear expectations around respectful behavior among members so incidents like this do not happen again.

Dirty. For those who want feet nail fungus, no place is better. For those who want poorly handled equipment and unmanaged facilities, no place is better. For those who don’t care about polite and pleasant atmosphere, it comes second after NYC subways. For those who like black bugs flying over smelly and oder filled showers , welcome in. For those who want quality - I highly recommend to stay away.

We had a very positive experience with Kings Bay Y Summer Camp back in 2024 when we paid in cash. Our child was placed at their main building on Nostrand Avenue, and we were satisfied with the environment, transportation (for an additional fee), and the overall camp activities. However, in 2025, we decided to enroll our child again, this time using a voucher. Initially, everything seemed fine, and they accepted our son based on our previous good experience. Unfortunately, just one day before camp started, we were informed that there were no spots left in the main building. They moved him to a nearby sub-location on Avenue U. We agreed to this change, but the conditions at the sub-location were extremely disappointing. The facility was dirty, the food provided was poor, and the supervision was inadequate. Our 8-year-old son was placed in a group with children ranging from toddlers to teenagers, which led to daily conflicts. He ended up in fights and even lost some money from his pocket during this chaotic experience. We had paid for four weeks via the voucher, but after just two visits, we stopped sending him. We requested a transfer back to the main building, but the management ignored us, and by that time it was too late to join another summer camp. In the end, they took the full payment, but our child only attended for a very short time. We feel other parents should be aware of this experience. Unfortunately, our 2025 experience was nothing like the previous year, and we cannot recommend them based on what happened this time.

Our 3К is very good. The principal, teachers and employees of KingsBayYm are very responsive, understanding, can always help. We found our 3K on the recommendation of friends and will be satisfied. There is a large parking lot nearby in the building, it is very convenient. The same organization has many events for all ages. There is also a swimming pool and a hall. The inside and outside of the building is always clean. I recommend who will join this great organization in the future. Our son goes to 3K, from autumn they have to go to PRE-K. There are camps in the summer. I recommend it with pleasure.
