Kids Making It is a Wilmington nonprofit youth woodworking program that teaches vocational, entrepreneurial, and life skills to at-risk, low-income, and disadvantaged youth roughly ages 13-18. Through after-school programs and paid summer work, participants learn carpentry and woodworking in a professional shop and can connect to apprenticeships. Operating since 1994.

Powered by GoogleThe best idea this town has had in a long time. I wish every city would invest in such a great program! Check out the gift shop, these kids ARE making it!!
Love this program and the "kids making it". So many cute and creative projects. I make an almost weekly trip to pick something up either for myself or as a gift. The little trees at Christmas time and the Hearts at Valentine's were so adorable. We recently picked up one of the tic-tac-toe boards as well and they are really so nice! This is such as excellent program to mentor children and give them much needed skills to be successful! I'm always excited to see what you guys do next! It is always much appreciated that you offer curbside pickup as well and the staff there will bend over backwards to offer the best customer service ever. I strongly recommend KMI as a must see stop in Wilmington for sure!
Bought 2 beautiful, well crafted wine stoppers made from 100 year old wood. Love them! These are some seriously talented kiddos making some really cool items!
I have bought a blue bird house, butterfly house and carving board in the past year! All the products are beautifully made and the prices so reasonable for artisan work. My favourite place to shop for gifts on Wilmington.
I love my chopping block from KidsMaking it. It was a great gift to myself and I use it ever day. Not only beautiful but well made at 2” thick and super durable. How cool that local kids make them, it’s a win win.
