Kids At Their Best is a Fort Morgan nonprofit serving over 600 children across Colorado's Eastern Plains, founded in 2006. Its BLAST Summer Meal Program runs eight weeks each summer as a mobile enrichment and free-meal program for low-income school-age children in Morgan County, built to counter summer learning loss and food insecurity. Days combine art, science, PE, music and reading activities, and the organization hosts Family Nights at each site with games, science and art.

To me, it earns 5 stars because: It focuses on developing the youth staff and youth participants by focusing on their strengths. KATB continues to evolve their programming, and are not content with merely repeating prior programming. KATB successfully operates in a complex rural environment, with multiple political entities, many languages, and funding streams, and always puts the served youth at the center of every program and decision. The programming at KATB manages a great balance between aspirational and practical. Donation dollars and in-kind contributions are wisely utilized. Overall, it is a solid and well led organization.

They did an awesome job and really helped our families in need have access to food and afternoon activities through summer when the school is closed. Their program also helped create local jobs that people didn’t have to travel out of town for. They do a good job bringing resources to our rural towns that we don’t typically have access to - we always appreciate when programs like theirs are available in our little towns.
