Kid Zone Enrichment Program
Private
City of Tempe out-of-school-time program running before- and after-school care at 15 Tempe schools for grades K-5 (K-8 at Ward Traditional), plus full-day summer programs at selected sites. The city describes it as enrichment-based rather than play-only, and it operates on a sliding fee scale and accepts subsidy programs so families across income levels can attend. Summer session dates and daily hours are not published on the program page.

Powered by GoogleBeing in kidzone since 1st grade the staff is wonderful and caring. 2 names that stand out are Mr Brian and Mr Adrian for being kind and respectful of me and my peers!
I really like the KidZone staff and my son LOVES it there! I just wish the kids had a dress code. I saw a girl about 4-5th grade with super short shorts on and her shirt was longer than the shorts she was wearing, so she looked like she was not wearing anything under it. It was inappropriate for school, more appropriate for bedtime, because the shorts she was wearing are those really thin pajama shorts. If your a parent and you're so lazy that you can't have your daughter dress right then that is sad. Her dad picked her up like that's just how he lets his little girl out of the house, half naked. That bit is disappointing and I have told my son to stay away from little girls that look like that because what do you think is going to show when she sits cross legged on the floor? It does not look good on the program or the parent.
I am so incredibly grateful for the Ward Traditional Academy Kid Zone program! They have such amazing and caring staff! I have two kids who have been in the program since Kindergarten. They have both really enjoyed the program and the additional classes offered, such as Nutrition. The summer and break programs have also been wonderful! The summer programs and Sports Camp are also a great option for reasonably priced camps during summer and school breaks. The camps offer a lot of fun activities and field trips for the kids. Kid Zone has been an excellent choice for extended care our family and they treat us like family! Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many kids!
My 4th Grader, Kindergartener, and myself absolutely adore not only the Kid Zone program but also the Staff! For our family it's all about having fun and keeping the kids engaged. The staff make sure that my little humans are safe and well cared for. The combination of caring staff and well designed array of activities for the kids is an excellent balance for all ages. They allow the kids to be themselves but in a structured environment which after a day of classes, it is needed. Our Family would highly recommend the Tempe school district and especially Kid Zone enrichment program!!!
Very disappointed. My kid is a trouble kid lately and has some tantrum issues, first of all. He is only 5 years old. Recently got in trouble for hurting another kid and was given a reminder day one & suspended on day two, it was spring break. So I paid full month + spring break fees for the care (approx. $450). When called the kids zone office for a refund as obviously now I have to make another arrangement or pay another daycare for his suspension period, I was told not eligible for a refund. He attends Fuller Elementary, teachers & stuffs are great. However experience with kids zone staffs was not great, mostly attitudinal problem, only exception of one or two staffs not friendly or cooperative. He already got in trouble at home since the day one hurting a kid, but my concern was what a 5 year will realize about a suspension, it is basically creating inconvenience for working parents. Hope my concern will be helpful for those in need.
