Edit to add: Katia reached out to me after this review to apologize and remedy the situation. I really appreciated the kindness and willingness to make things right. I do still stand by my review of saying that this might not be the best choice if your child has Autism or a neurodivergence, but I do think it was very kind of her to take the time to make it right. Because of this, I brought my review up from two stars to three stars. —— I know a lot of people love this place for their kids but personally it was the wrong choice for my daughter. My daughter has autism and the way she treated my daughter in the class wasn’t the greatest. My daughter came out in tears because Katia wouldn’t help her. I wasn’t allowed to sit in on the class, so I only really have my daughter’s experience to go off of and what I heard through the door as I sat outside the room. But what I heard outside the room did sound like my daughter was trying to ask for help and she refused to acknowledge her because my daughter wouldn’t address her by her name (I was told my daughter couldn’t remember her name, and wasn’t sure what to call her or what to say to get her name). After the class when Katia came out, she told me that she thought the class wasn’t right for my daughter. Personally I just felt like she didn’t know how to work with a child who has autism and I wouldn’t recommend the class if you have a child who might have a neurodivergence.

Kenai art studio summer camp is a great art program. My daughters loves Ms Katia who owns the studio. She is very good with kids and spends one on one personal time with each kid. My daughters are super excited to go to art camp every day. Highly recommend.

Kenai Art Studio has been an amazing experience for my 10 year old. We started out with the summer week-long camp. Drew loved it so much that we came back for multiple summer camps and now for weekly lessons. He comes home each week with a huge smile on his face! Katia is engaging and supportive of the students, no matter what their experience level is. The studio is organized, clean, and follows social distance/COVID protocols.
