KCC is the Kinston Community Center, a 53,000-square-foot City of Kinston recreation facility at 2602 West Vernon Avenue that houses the Recreation Department and hosts its youth programs. Its own summer offering is a half-day basketball camp for ages 7-12 (July 8-11, 9 a.m.-noon, $40 with snacks and t-shirt) plus a gymnastics camp. The center is also the in-person registration site for the city's six-week Fun in the Sun day camp at Neuseway Nature Park (ages 5-12, $130) and the Georgia K. Battle Day Camp ($80). Programs are municipal, open-enrollment and low-cost.

It's a great place to work out with many classes to choose from. When my family and I attended the water park we went early and left early. That worked out perfect for us. The staff is very helpful and the facility is clean. I appreciate a place to meet my friends to work out and a family outing we can do together.
