My two daughters have been part of this studio for 2 years, starting in rec classes, then Sparks, and now dancing with Body Talk. They absolutely love coming to JWSD. The teachers are supportive, fun, and truly invested in the kids. Not only have they grown as dancers in such a short time, but they’ve also built so many friendships that make this place feel like family. The energy in the studio is positive and welcoming, and it’s been amazing to watch their confidence shine both on and off the stage. We’re so grateful to have found this dance school!

This studio has truly been a blessing for our daughter (age 8), who had been searching for an extracurricular activity that aligned with her passions. The dedication, hard work, and love the teachers have poured into creating a welcoming dance studio—one that embraces dancers of all ages, skill levels, backgrounds, and income levels—has been nothing short of inspiring for our family. We are very intentional about where and with whom our daughter spends her time, and not once have we ever felt concerned for her well-being, whether as a dancer or simply as a young person, when she walks through the doors of JWSD. She spends multiple hours a week here, and every moment has been filled with growth, joy, and encouragement. A heartfelt thank-you to the teachers, the ownership, and the families who help make JWSD such a kind, supportive, and uplifting community!

My daughter (almost 3) had an amazing time at the open enrollment dance class with Ms. Amy and Ms. Cheyenne. Both teachers were so engaged with the kiddos and created a really fun, playful environment. So of course, we wanted to go back. Fast forward to the first day of class (older woman with dyed blond hair and a ponytail was teaching), and she was horrible. My kiddo (along with 2 other kiddos in the class who were crying and hitting the door to get out for almost the entire class) were crying because they wanted their parents in the dance room with them. My husband went in to help our daughter feel comfortable with the teacher (the parents of the other 2 kids went into the room as well), and the teacher kept telling my husband (and the other parents) to leave, saying I’m the teacher and have years of childhood development experience. On top of that, she wasn’t engaging with the kiddos like Ms. Amy and Ms. Cheyenne and wasn’t giving much instruction or guidance on what they should be doing. At one point, 3 kids were sitting in the corner on the beam with their hands over their ears, 2 kids were at the door hitting it and crying, and my daughter was in the middle of the room crying, which is when my husband went in. It was disorganized, and the kids did not look like they were having fun (and my daughter said she wanted to leave). After the dance class, I tried to speak with the teacher to ask if their policy is that parents can’t be in the dance room, and if so, then we wanted to respect that but wanted to see if she would work with us so our daughter would be comfortable alone in the class. If she wasn’t open to that, then the class wouldn’t be a good fit for us. Everyone has different parenting/teaching philosophies, but we aren’t ok with just leaving her to cry. The teacher flipped and said “she is going to cry at some point in her life,” and then walked away. It was rude, callous, and unprofessional. I told her I didn’t appreciate the attitude/comment, and her response was “noted.” This was a really disappointing experience, especially for my daughter who was so excited to take a dance class (and has had great experiences taking toddler classes elsewhere). I’m not the type to leave bad reviews, especially for a small business, but the level of rudeness, unprofessionalism, and callousness shown by this teacher was a bridge too far. We will be finding a different dance studio and won’t be going back.

Great school of dance; My child loves having Ms. Kallie and Ms. Cheyenne in class. It’s a small family business, and you can really tell from their prices and the way they care about each student. My child has been taking recreational classes for a few years and is really excited to join their dance company. We love it there and recommend it to all our friends and family.
