Powered by GoogleThis is a fantastic venue, and the facility is run phenomenally well! Regular playing opportunities are available, and tournaments are run so well. Even for novice players, Stewart and Karen make sure you enjoy the experience!
I attended an advanced clinic on Tuesday May 30, 2023. Stewart Atkins, the tennis pro, provided excellent instruction for the group. He's aware of the various skill levels of the attendees and brings out the best of each player. He wants attendees to learn, but have fun as well. This wasn't my first clinic at JITC. The tennis center is a beautiful facility and well maintained. I always enjoy an opportunity to play there.
Beautiful facility nestled among the tall pines on Jekyll! The clay courts are immaculately maintained. Instruction by JITC director of tennis Stewart Atkins is top notch. Several clinics are offered throughout the week as well as private lessons. No matter what level you are, you’ll find a challenge here! The club members are amazing and treat you like family. The pro shop staff is awesome as well, and the shop has a nice selection of gear. Love JITC!
Like the island it's nestled on, Jekyll Island Tennis Center is an unassuming public facility that champions players of all levels. I live about 4 hours away, and even though I can visit only occasionally, I always get a warm welcome for clinics and private lessons. Over the years, I have seen the facility transform into a nationally recognized gem. Director of Tennis Stewart Atkins sees to it that the recently resurfaced clay courts are well-maintained and ready for play. It's a gorgeous facility that blends in with the island's natural beauty -- and that's intentional! What impresses me most about Mr. Atkins, though, is his commitment to his students of all ages. He teaches with expertise, humor, patience, clarity, and confidence. His passion for the game he's played his whole life is palpable. Mr. Atkins treats me like one of his own students, and I feel like a better player after every clinic and lesson I have at JITC. Can't wait for my next visit!
I came to live in Brunswick about 4 years ago. I moved from Miami where I lived 40 plus years. Tennis has been in my life for more than 70 years and have played in many places. Jekyll is one of the best places. Stewart and his team have done a great job both in the quality of the facility and the great atmosphere they developed among the players. They are excellent team builders. I love tennis in Jekyll Island.
