I was told they were able to accommodate my 6 year old son with adhd and level 1 ASD, he was then kicked out 4 days after registering him because he became dysregulated and attempted to elope, which could have been avoided had they made the reasonable accommodations I requested to begin with. They also left a small bruise on his arm from how staff handled him during his dysregulation. He is now established with afterschool care at a daycare center near by and doing absolutely AMAZING. This place has literal teenagers staffing it and is not properly equipped to handle any child with the slightest disability. I also find it fishy they told me I could just send his adhd med with him and they would “put it up” and have him self administer it on the one full day he was there on Veterans Day. His medicine is a narcotic and would need to be locked up, I obviously didn’t send him with it and had my mother stop in and give it to him. My understanding is a childcare facility has to be MAT certified to administer meds, which they aren’t.

Both of my children have been attending the Jefferson Youth Center for years. Staff and Admin are wonderful. Very understanding and accomodating of children with additional needs. They offer childcare in a unique center that allows children to explore different interests while making life long friendships. This program is truly an asset to the Town.
