Camp Batawagama, the Iron County Youth Camp, is an overnight camp on the shores of Indian Lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula that has served children since 1945. Weeklong sessions cover swimming, watercraft instruction, camping and arts and crafts, and campers spend the week without cell phones. Five consecutive summer sessions run from late June into early August, with registration handled by the county.

I went there in the 60's. Glad to see it is still in operation.

This place is one of the best summer camps in exististice! I've been here many a summers and met so many people! I've made long-lasting friendships and learned so many valuable lessons. The food is always good, the actives are always fun, and there is never a dull moment. The staff are always nice and it is just such a good experience, and all for such a small price. I would recommend to everyone that they spend at least one week there and see. I'm sure you will love it. I will be working there as soon as I'm old enough.

Literally the best camp ever! Highly recommend. Many of my best friends are from going and I never would have met them otherwise. I'm so happy I did. The food is amazing as well as every activity! Will go forever.

Love camp Batawagama as a child and I love senior days! I am still macramé since I learned it from Paula Schultz

Camp Batawagama is a childhood gem for myself, and my dad as well. I was a camper for six years and believe this camp helped shaped my developing years, and taught me some of the most valuable lessons to learn about nature, friendships - and community.
