Just had a group out here for training. The staff was so sympathetic to other bad-luck of weather (ice storm, snow storm, below 0 temp) and worked with us to make sure our stay was cozy! The new Director, Susan, is the most kind and helpful person I've met! They also have vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free food options, which was such an unexpected surprise. The food was just incredible. I highly recommend staying here for retreats or any reason really. Wish the weather had let us love the trails, but we'll be back in Spring for a redo :)

We had a week-long summer camp that had grown off an exiting camp in Minnesota. This was our first ever Iowa camp session, and we ended up having it at Clover Woods. We could not have picked a better location. The facilities and buildings were excellent for our needs, and our counselors and campers all enjoyed the area. The food was outstanding and everyone loved it. Most of all, the site director was very committed to the summer camp experience, and was incredibly easy to work with. He runs the camp on a very small staff which creates a nice personal experience throughout the week. This is an awesome place.

My son has gone to Taste of Camp 4 years in a row now and he absolutely loves it! They give opportunities to do activities they may not ever get to do (rock wall, zipline, archory, creek wall) and the staff is usually pretty great. Cost has been three tier (pay what you can afford based on three tiers. Camping facilities: Wasn't sure if I was supposed to rate the service or facilities, so I docked my rating 1 star for facilities. Cabins have several bunks in them and seem ok. It is the wilderness afterall and not 5 star hotels. I wish additional cleaning was done prior to the kids arrival though. My son's bed this year has several cobwebs at the foot and luckily I was able to sweep them away before he freaked out and wanted to go home. Cabins have basic electric and window a.c. units, but seem pretty dated, but perhaps that is the way it is supposed to be - to allow kids to get a different perspective. Mosquitoes are bad so bring some bug spray! Grass and road maintained very well, and there is a really cool campfire area.
