We used it as a pit stop for our visit to the volcano, it was long drive from Waimea. Kids loved the exhibits. Sadly the dino exhibits had moved on from this center. The on-site restaurant was also great but needs reservations. The shows starting at 10 am were well put together and kept even the younger kids busy.

Imiloa! Let me tell you about this place! Take some time and lose yourself at the planetarium!!! Watch the stars fly by and just relax and imagine your on the top of our mountain! Is it a cool rush?? You make the opinion!! I guarantee a most pleasant adventure! Aloha!

We came to this museum not knowing much about it. At $19 per ticket, we expected more. The museum is better suited for children. We attended a show about Mayan Skies in the planetarium which displayed impressive graphics. The museum does a good job of honoring Hawaiian culture which was really fascinating to learn about. However, it’s more about Hawaiian culture than astronomy at some points. If you’re an adult, you can plan to spend about 45 minutes in the museum. Overall, it was interesting but wish there was more on astronomy for $19. The layout of the museum was a little disorganized, it was difficult to know which exhibit you were in at some points or how the exhibit related to astronomy.

We loved this place! There is so much to see & learn. Plenty of hands on activities for children of all ages and lots of information stations and things to read. The theater dome is really cool and the shows are different and our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The mural in the entrance is amazing and we loved how the culture is integrated into the lessons and traditional stories are passed down. I am considering a family year pass. The bathrooms are nice and there is an outside covered picnic table area so you can bring lunch and enjoy the day here. We went with our school class for field trip and we had the place to ourselves on a day they are usually closed. I saw there is a cafe area but it was not open when we went as it was not a regular, full-staff day. The parking lot seemed sufficient.

First time visiting for the Dino exhibit. So organized, super clean, helpful staff. The bathrooms were very clean!! I love how they spaced out each dino and had information plaques and buttons to push. Gift shop had some really cute stuff, didnt visit the resturant this time, but will on the next visit. Lots of parking so no worries there. Two tickets were almost the same as the membership so I just bought that instead. Had to pay addition entry for the traveling exhibit, but it was worth it! 🦖
