Illini Elite Volleyball Club is an independent volleyball club at 2229 Valley View Drive in Bloomington, Illinois, open to players from grade school through high school regardless of where they live. It runs summer camps from June into early August, split into groups by age and by the skills a player wants to work on, covering volleyball skills development, group lessons and preparation for high school tryouts. The club runs separate expansion and elite programs that both practice at the Illini Elite gym, and reports 254 alumni who have gone on to play collegiate volleyball.

★DaleThey assigned a coach to my daughter’s team that, by her own admission, had never played or even watched a volleyball game before. Yes, you read that right. The person that is suppose to teach the kids the rules and techniques to play the game had never even watched a game let alone play the sport. This sums up this joke of an organization. Go anywhere else and get a coach that has at least played the game in grade school.

I dropped my mother off at the front door today and one of the workers told her she has to move her car, I WAS IN THE CAR DRIVING OFF, next our girls were eating pretzels and cheese , the same guy came to tell them if they are going to eat go to the picnic tables (which was fine) HOWEVER, he added that’s what they are there for sarcastically… last … a woman worker blonde hair , lanky built , told a team of girls if they are going to bump the balls on the empty court make sure they don’t let them run into the games next to them because they were in a middle court with two side games going… (which is also fine) HOWEVER , she turn to her family and literally puff really loud as if the kids are frustrating her and that was the FIRST TIME she had to talk to our girls ….I told her it’s fine that your telling them to be carefully , but exhaling with frustration was unnecessary for KIDS! VERY POOR SERVICE AND WE MADE A 3 hour drive to play in this tournament…

★Dan ToppinsI can only speak to the local team experience. They had tryouts but cut no one. This caused them to need more coaches than what they had available. The end result were teams having coaches that never coached, never played and some that never even watched a volleyball game before. Naturally concerns were brought to the owners attention to which he very arrogantly dismissed them and acknowledged none of the issues. The entire season was a complete waste of time and no player should have to go through what so many did with this organization. I can only presume that they operate this way out of greed. The more teams they have the more money they bring in and don’t care at all about the experience players get. Which is sad because the players should be all that matters.
