Powered by GoogleBeen climbing here for five years and never had much to compare it to until recently. There are still routes in the ropes room up from like December which is so unbelievably disappointing, especially with how much the membership costs. For how cramped the ropes room gets there’s hardly any turnover in the routes. I’ve heard this issue stems largely from an inability to keep setters so idk just pay them better or something. Staff are great and never the issue but the owners are awful. Being the only climbing gym in town though they feel no pressure to be better. Unsure if i will return next semester. Also - they took down the BLM flag which is just so unsettling to do in this current climate. Just adds to the let down at this point.
Please, please reset routes more often. I’ve been here for weeks and feel as thought I’ve done all of the routes I can do. I would also like to say that the easier climbs (V2-V4-5) could be a little more fun/spaced out without being as difficult. Other than that the environment is amazing and workers are super friendly! I know I’m not the only one hoping for some more exciting/friendlier routes!!
I’ve been climbing here for just over six months, and I’ve grown to love the environment here! The routes could be reset more often (they’re just now resetting some belay routes originally set in October and it’s December now), but there are so so so many routes to choose from that I feel like I’m never waiting too long. The staff is very sweet, and I feel like the general climbing community here is very friendly. There’s always someone who’s willing to give out advice (but no beta-spraying). I would say the grading for bouldering is easier than HH Indy, and maybe more strict than Climb Cincy (I’d say they’re about on par). And belay grading seems standard. Also, shoutout to the semester pass that started in August and in January! It’s perfect for a college student
Climbed here on team for a little while. Setting used to be good but its gone downhill recently. Getting better now. Staff are nice and pretty good community, owners suck though. Reccomend going for the experience and hopefully get into climbing. Generally a good gym.
Hoosier Heights Bloomington is Awesome! The staff are professional, helpful, and supportive of climbers of all levels of experience and the facility is amazing! Not only does it have an awesome roped climbing building where you can top-rope, auto-belay, and lead climb, but it has a separate chapel with a huge indoor boulder and training rooms, weight rooms and lounge in the basement, and a huge yoga space in the original chapel.
