Holiday Camp has provided summer programming for Monroe County youth with disabilities since 1954, with swimming, sports, arts and crafts, music, outdoor recreation, entertainment and field trips. It runs eight weeks of camp each summer, attended by about 150 children and youth, on a 3.5-acre outdoor site along the River Raisin in Monroe. The camp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and an agency of the United Way of Monroe County, operating on a nominal fee structure with camperships available. Its property is owned and maintained by the Monroe County Intermediate School District.
