Powered by GoogleTremendous experience; fundamentals developed, my son learned a lot about the game & most of the coaches in it for the right reasons
Our kids have participated in many seasons of sports over the years through Hilliard Optimist (lacrosse, basketball, cheer, volleyball), and during every season and every sport we've had great experiences. When my kids were younger (2-4th grade) in the different sports, the coaches and leagues were fantastic at instruction and making sure the kids were able to not only learn, but have fun while playing. As the kids got older (5-6th grade), the play became a bit more competitive (as is that age), but still every coach was fantastic at making sure everyone was still learning, no matter what their skill level and experience was. And they didn't lose sight of having a good time either. Hilliard Optimist is unique because each sport has their own board, admins, and league directors. So each sport you get to work with someone new, and it really give a feel of being a part of many different things, with the ease of it all being within the Optimist club. I cannot say enough about how great our experiences have been, especially in the last few years in particular with the cheer and lacrosse programs. I highly recommend any parent with kids interesting in learning, or growing their skills, in one of the sports offered to definitely check them out.

Our experience with the league was great. The coaches for the 2021 Browns were amazing. No unnecessary yelling, focused on the important stuff, and really taught kids about sportsmanship. It was my 9 yo son's first year in tackle and his skills really improved overall. The coaches and league were organized and noticed us if there were any schedule changes. Great experience.
I have tried to contact them several times about my daughter doing cheerleading and also sent out 2 checks and haven't heard anything back. Plus it still says I owe $160 for her to participate, when 2 checks was already sent out. Why have they not cashed my checks it's been months and still haven't heard anything. I am frustrated because this would have been her first time getting to be a cheerleader and it sounds like it's not going to happen. I would love to hear from someone and find out what is going on.
