High Valley Community Center is a nonprofit 21st Century Community Learning Center in Del Norte serving K-12 youth. Its summer program runs eight weeks and is open to any student in grades K-12, including homeschoolers and kids from Monte Vista, Center and out of the area. Days are organized into tracks: Sports & Games, a Build Lab where kids make inventions from cardboard, tape and tools, a Community Connection Lab assembling snack packs and gifts for neighbors, and a Challenge Lab with obstacle courses and team missions. Weekly field trips include swimming, fishing, bowling, local museums, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Zapata Falls and the Creede Repertory Theatre.
