Powered by GoogleMy kid went to a friend’s birthday party at High Point and liked it so much he asked to have his party there. My other child then requested to have their party there as well. Everytime I’d climb a bit and quickly got hooked and have been a member for 9 years now! It’s great exercise and has a social aspect as you work with a belay partner and discuss routes and techniques. There are multiple yoga classes, a spacious sauna in each locker room as well as weights and Cardio equipment. I’ve been to many climbing gyms around the U.S. and Canada and this one is top 3 with a large rope room and sizable bouldering room plus a great kids’ climbing area. The staff is super friends, knowledgeable and welcoming! You should definitely check it out!
My 10 year old twin boys love it here!!! We feel welcome every time we walk through the door! All the employees have been very patient with them and are always available for questions or if we need anything! An amazing place to climb, work on your bouldering skills, and burn some energy on the days going outside is too cold or too rainy!!
Plenty of routes so you rarely have to wait for climbs (unless it’s a new one, then you may have to wait). Boulder room is almost all super overhanging and hard setting, but overall a good variety! Friendly staff and good weightlifting area!
I USUALLY love to climb at High Point, but NOT TODAY. 2 of the 6 solo climbs were for professionals with an easy climb at 5.10 rating. I was able to get to the top, but it wasn’t fun. There was only 1 other solo climb available, and there was a mother and son using that one. 3 were being changed out and unused at the same time. It would have been respectful to have left 1 of those free to climb. I’m only able to climb 2-4 times per month. The assumption of my contract is that there will always be walls that I can climb. High Point Birmingham, you failed me today.
Love this gym. Friendly staff, quality walls, great size. There were more auto belays than I expected. The kids section is awesome. I went on a ladies night and a day pass was half off. Every climb I did was fun
