Powered by GoogleOne of the best small town museums/art galleries you’ll find in Louisiana. They tirelessly dedicate themselves to showcasing the vibrant local art scene, and highlighting local history with revolving exhibitions. I can’t recommend enough that everyone pay them a visit, as there is always something there to enjoy.
My family and I love the creative and unique exhibits that are featured here throughout the year. Always a family friendly fun experience! The Brimstone Museum & Henning Cultural Center are must visit places when passing through Sulphur!
Perfect place to go for art, culture and local history! We had such an amazing experience today! The Brimstone Kid’s Art Camp at the Henning Cultural Center was so much fun!! The kids had a blast! The teachers had fun lessons for each group! And the museum staff, Thom Trahan and Kat Godsey were great hosts! The atmosphere is so welcoming and felt like home. And we got to experience the current history installation! We can’t wait for next month’s camp!
An incredible family friendly museum! 😍 We went to the grand opening of the Curio-ddities exhibit and were blown away! My kids loved the interactive roses! It was brilliant watching everyone work on painting their own rose! And the Alice and Wonderland themed upstairs was so magical!! There was an amazing mix of art on display: installation art, ceramics, photography, paintings, and taxidermy! Just seeing so many local artists on display together is exciting! It’s so worth a visit!! ❤️
I had downloaded the local tourist app for Lake Charles on my phone and was searching for some things to do on a random Saturday morning in June. I was pleasantly surprised to have found an ALL WOMEN'S art show exhibit being held at the "Henning House". The home itself was adorable and rich in history. We were greeted by Eric, the curator and caretaker of The Henning House. Eric was so fantastic, friendly, adorable and welcoming. He had such a memory retention and could tell us fun stories about each of the artists we inquired upon. The artwork was all beautiful and unique and we enjoyed walking through the home several times to take it all in. It seems like Eric really enjoys his job and loves the home as any caretaker should. I would highly encourage you to stop by, see this history of Sulphur Louisiana and of course the works of art offered. They also offered summer art camps for children! What a great addition to any town.
