Hearts of Mercy is a nonprofit in Stafford Township (Manahawkin), NJ that runs a week-long summer day camp for under-resourced boys and girls in grades K–8. Days run from about 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with morning sports, lunch, and afternoon enrichment in music, acting, art, forensic science, nature/pond study, sign language, and etiquette. Part of a mission to break the poverty cycle through learning and enrichment; camp is aimed at at-risk youth.

I tried all the normal avenues only to come up more confused. This a.m. I met Pat, a Hearts Of Mercy staff member. We sat down, and from the beginning I could feel the difference. People don't care what you know until they know you care. Pat CARED. And she cared for about two plus hours oh, at no charge no less. This is mercy. I left there so much more informed, and more at ease. Pat is an angel, in fact I believed I witnessed more then a few angels there disguised as staff members. I even left there thinking ....maybe in the future they may come up with a pair of wings to fit me. They do incredible work with children, the future of our schools, towns, your neighbors children, even family members. We'll if God has put a burden on your heart for our hurting children.
