Wonderful place to host your next church gathering. Lodging is excellent and the food prepared by the kitchen staff is five star, first class. Plenty of parking. Management is ready and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend for your Christ centered experience.

Heartland campus is a great place for church events. The campus facilities are new/updated, not run down or outdated. They have a large meeting hall, dining room, separate building for break out sessions, outdoor facilities. Pool, pickle ball, basket, volleyball, zip lines. They also have new lodging buildings. Staff is nice and friendly.

had a very upsetting experience at Heartland Retreat Center. The staff did not allow me to go to my room even when I didn’t feel well or didn’t want to participate in activities like rolling in the mud. Every activity seemed unsafe—kids were constantly getting hurt, and five even went to the ER during our stay. When the weather was over 90°, they made us stay outside for hours at a time. Many kids passed out or got sick, and the staff ignored it or accused them of faking. The staff and security were extremely rude and acted like we were prisoners. They followed me around in golf carts yelling at me to participate in things I didn’t want to do. They also pressured kids to donate money to a “missionary vehicle” for their Africa trip, which turned out to be a Range Rover—an expensive and unreliable car, which didn’t sit right with a lot of us. Every single kid was asked to donate $20. We used to work with the previous director who allowed us to have our phones, but now they take your phone and lock it away until the end of camp. I’m from out of state, and if something had happened, I wouldn’t have been able to reach my family. The food was hit or miss. Some meals were fine, but others were gross—like raw steak with bones in it, and a girl even found metal in her mac and cheese. During service, they told our church leaders to wait outside and treated them like they were just one of the kids. They had no respect for our group at all. Even when we followed their plans, they would suddenly change the schedule and take away our free time, forcing us into more activities. Overall, I felt disrespected, unsafe, and ignored. I do not recommend this retreat center.

Heartland is a one-of-a-kind place that provides unforgettable experiences for all ages. With so many different pieces of wildlife, scenic views, & various hands-on activities, there truly is something for everyone here. The staff is wonderfully personable and always willing to answer questions. The grounds are well taken care of, and it shows. There are various trails, a couple of which lead to a peaceful creek scene. I have had the opportunity to see Heartland grounds in each of the four seasons, and I have been enamored by all of it. 10/10 recommend!

Great place to hold a retreat! We've been coming twice a year for over a decade and love it. Our students can't wait to come back each time. They have wonderful staff that are there to truly serve your needs and make sure everything is taken care of.
