Heartland Music Together is a Louisville Music Together provider offering a one-week, half-day Rhythm Kids summer camp for early-elementary children, exploring rhythm through movement, instrument play, and song (keeping beat, improvising, ensemble play). It also runs year-round mixed-age music classes for babies through preschoolers.

I have attended Music Together classes with my boys since they were babies & we absolutely LOVE them! The quality of music & play, combined with the freedom of exploration cannot be beat for moms of little ones! Ms. Miriam has always been so friendly & willing to work with us, as well as all of the teachers we have had before. Mrs. Stephanie is definitely a favorite of my boys! Just in the past week I have noticed my youngest son (17 months) patting his legs & saying “ba-ba-ba-ba” like the rhythm patterns we do in class! And whenever I join in with him, his face just completely lights up. I am so thankful to live in an area with such a quality music program available to us so we can share these experiences together & start them off early with an appreciation for music.
Both my daughters and I look forward to our music class every week. It is a bonding time for us. The program is developmentally appropriate (meaning kids can be kids) and evidence based (meaning they really are learning the fundamentals of music by doing). Music class has helped me use music in our daily routines, including calming tantrums and easing transitions. My 3 year old sings all the time, has great rhythm and is creating her own songs. My 1 year old amazes me by clapping/laughing along, "singing" and dancing. The instructors are fun, talented and knowledgeable. You can try a class for free and you will be hooked! There's lots more information on their website. And yes, it really is as good as it sounds!
I've been taking my son and daughter here for years. They absolutely love it! I've had different instructors and they're all fabulous. The best part is that the kids don't have to sit in circle time. They're free to walk around and learn as they want. This was so important because my son won't sit still for a minute and they fully understand.
