★★★★★Peter ShawGreat place to get away from it all! Heartland has great facilities, RV/tent camping, dorms, cabins etc. They offer events spring through summer. They can host your event including church retreats weddings and family reunions. Open to individual campers. They have a pond, trails, disc golf, trees, wildlife, basketball court, soccer field, playground and more! They are constantly doing improvements and are installing new playground equipment etc.. Bathrooms and shower house are nice. Surrounded by corn, deer and Amish in historic Van Burn county. Close to the Des Moines river and A state forest.
