I highly recommend Gulf Coast Dance Alliance to any dancer who strives to become better! As with any discipline… It takes hard work! Mentally, and physically, students will have to break down bad habits and create new ones. The staff at GCDA are prepared to help students to their best of their abilities whether it be recreational dancers or those who strive for professional dance careers. I have witnessed incredible transformations over the years that I have been associated with GCDA.

Gulf Coast Dance Alliance truly shaped me into the dancer I am today. ALL of the staff are so incredibly talented and care about their students immensely. My technique got SO much better and my appreciation for certain genres grew tremendously. I made the Auburn University dance team BECAUSE of Gulf Coast. Melissa Covo became my mom away from home. She cared for me outside of dance - she would come to my high school football games to see me cheer. She even came all the way to Auburn to watch me dance a few times. I don’t have enough good things to say about her and her amazing family. If you’re looking for a studio for your daughter or son, Gulf Coast is the best choice. You won’t regret it!

My experience at Gulf Coast has been one consisting of nothing but positive growth. I am a current junior considering how I want to continue my dance career and, because of the training I have received here, I am prepared for any career path I choose. Whether I decide to audition for a college dance team, join a professional dance company, or pursue a career completely unrelated to dance, this studio has taught me life skills that will allow me to succeed in any area. Gulf Coast has remained consistent in training our team to its fullest potential season after season, no matter the negativity from others. Here, it is really about teamwork and seeing improvement in ourselves and our team. The focus at Gulf Coast is not on who won what, for it is on the work that goes into becoming great dancers. This studio is my family and it hurts to see others speak so negatively about something myself and so many others have invested our blood, sweat, and tears into.

My two daughters moved to Gulf Coast Dance Alliance the first year they opened, 2011. The quality of the instruction blew us away, and we knew we had made the right decision. Over the years, we have been continually impressed with the excellent instructors, who give individualized attention. This studio is on a par with big city opportunities that you won't find anywhere else in Baldwin County. As a mom, I have appreciated the professionalism and attention to detail displayed by the owners. Thank you for adding so much to my girls' lives.

Both of my daughters danced at GCDA from elementary through high school. The dance education was phenomenal, and provided them with a firm foundation in art, movement, and personal expression. The mutual respect between the students and teachers was obvious to all, from community members to other studio owners from around the region. The business practices at GCDA were completely transparent, with studio policies in writing and an online platform that was kept up-to-date for me to check our account and rehearsal or performance schedules at any time. We participated in both regular classes and dance company, with travelling to competitions across the southeast. I enjoyed having the opportunity for my children to be mentored- not just in dance, but also in life skills - by Melissa Covo and her staff. She diligently tried to keep the drama out of the studio, even if it meant parting ways with a dancer, employee, or parent-volunteer who didn't fulfill commitments for class schedules, rehearsals, finances, etc. Melissa and her staff are highly educated professionals who provide skilled instruction in dance arts, teamwork, responsibility, and so many other life skills. I am thankful for our family's experiences at GCDA.
