Been connected with Group Mission Trips since 1996 when I was a youth pastor at a church in KC. That first year I took the church youth group to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota with Group Mission Trips and I continued taking them on trips with this organization until I left the ministry in 2013. In late 2013 I received an email from Group. They needed set-up directors during the summer months to work getting the camp prepared one week prior to the actual camp week. I’ve been preparing one or more camps every summer since. Working as set-up director, the week before the churches come, I’ve had the opportunity to meet all the residents in the community that were going to be helped during the camp week. There are many people living in their own home that sometimes don't have money to paint the outside, or inside, of their home, repair a set of steps, build a porch, or build a wheelchair ramp. These are the people that need help with their homes and also someone who will spend time with them, just talking. Each time I’ve been set-up director for a community I’ve seen the excitement on the resident’s faces about having a work crew with them for the next week. Group Mission Trips opens up opportunities for church youth to meet other adults in faraway places and share a meal, a conversation, and a possibly a pray. For the youth it’s a time to be outside their normal routine, meeting and working for people who need help and a little companionship. I always go back to the scripture verse in Isaiah 6:8; “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I; send me!’” My hope and prayer is that more youth, and their leaders, hear about Group Mission Trips and the need that is out there. Maybe they to will hear the call, “Whom shall I send…” and maybe they might stand up and say “Here am I; send me!” P.S. Image below was taken on the Wind River Indian Reservation, 2005

Group Mission Trips provides everything you need to have an amazing, life-changing service experience! Their professional, caring staff is there to guide you in every step of the process. I have been involved with Group Mission Trips for the past 10 years. I started as a youth group leader and my youth would tell you it was the best week of their summer - every single year. The minute we got back from one camp, we were planning and looking forward to the following summer's trip. There is no better atmosphere for youth and adults to see the life-changing power that a week of serving others in God's name can provide. I've also been a volunteer and currently serve in a leadership role. Getting to see some of my Group Mission Trip family every summer is something that I look forward to!!! I would highly recommend this organization.

I took my youth group on our first mission trip in 2013. In my mind, it was for the kids and I wanted to make sure they had a great time, while helping others and serving God. I learned very quickly that this week is about everyone. You almost immediately become immersed in the message and truly see God's work at hand everyday, every minute that you are there. Group Mission Trips does an amazing job of inspiring you, challenging you in your faith, and bringing you closer to God. I cannot recommend these trips enough! We make it our "mission" to fundraise enough to go every year!

Been on Group Mission Trips for about 15 years! It is a tremendous program and gets kids (and adults!) to participate actively in the expansion of God's Kingdom. The leadership, administration, and staff have been wonderful for each experience. My youth group (as well as myself) have been blessed continually throughout the years!

I have been taking High School aged youth on mission trips for approximately 20 years. Over the last 12 years I have used GMT. They are by far the best I have used. Their programing is Christ centered and thought provoking. It makes youth and adults think about their relationship with God and strengthens that relationship.
