Grand Canyon Youth is a Flagstaff nonprofit that runs educational river expeditions on the rivers and canyons of the Southwest for young people ages 10-19. Trips run from one to 18 days, with Grand Canyon expeditions reserved for ages 15-19, and combine river running with science, service and environmental education. Founded in 1998 by three professional river guides, the organization has served more than 14,000 youth and fundraises year-round so cost is not a barrier, offering financial aid to all youth applicants.
