The Governor's Program for Gifted Children is a seven-week residential summer program for academically and artistically gifted students, held on the McNeese State University campus in Lake Charles. Campers study humanities, science, and fine arts and live on campus for the session. It serves gifted students in grades six through ten, plus musically gifted students in grades eleven and twelve, and need-based financial aid is available.
