The Glacier Institute is a nonprofit environmental-education organization near Glacier National Park offering summer day camps for kids and teens (each day mixing a field trip, hands-on activities, games, art and a short hike) plus overnight programs at its West Glacier Field Camp and Big Creek Outdoor Education Center, including backpacking, fly-fishing and young-naturalist courses. ★★★★★Melea ButlerI visited Glacier National Park in September of 2024. I had never been and was not familiar with the layout of the park. My sister had suggested doing a guided hike. Glacier Institute was better than I could have expected, as I had never participated in a guided hike excursion. Due to flight delays, I arrived in MT super late and called to reschedule or refund. They were so accommodating due to my travel issues and were able to put me on the following day. I did the Highline Trail Educational Day Hike. My tour guide was Clara, and she was very nice. Our group was smaller, which was nice to keep up the pace. It was cloudy for most of the day and rained some, but it was overall an amazing experience. The website said the time would be 8:00am - 4:00pm. We ended early, which I was okay with, so I could explore other parts of the park. I would recommend Glacier Institute and do another hike with them in the future!

★★★★★Kim TuckerTook the tour today with Carrie. Great day , great tour and we saw big horn sheep, (I saw white dots) and a real Bear in the river. Learned a lot about the park. Saw glaciers, water falls, rivers, plus 30 minutes at Logan Pass. On to lunch at St Mary Lake. Then on to the St Mary Visitor center. Then a reverse trip back. There was a road delay with the road becoming a parking lot. Turns out there was a bear show in the river. The delay took some time away from our apartment village stop, but the bear was way better than shopping. The red jammers looked like they were having great fun, but we had a great day as well.
