Camp Mitre Peak is a Girl Scout overnight (resident) camp in west Texas between Alpine and Fort Davis, run by the Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest. It offers summer resident-camp sessions for girls plus troop and family camping, with a swimming pool, lodging and dining hall. Activities include horseback riding, backpacking, a challenge course, hiking, swimming, environmental education, arts and crafts.

The Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest does rent out the camp to groups or individuals during the off season. There are cabins with bunk beds and several bath houses, a building with a commercial kitchen, large pool, archery range, horse corrals/trails (but you'd have to bring your own horses), and many other charming features available. The views of Mitre Peak are spectacular and the town of Alpine is just a few miles away.
