★★★★★David HigginsI have been coaching my son here since he was in 3rd grade. He will be a sophomore this coming school year. We have debated playing club but the cost is just too much. GYSA offers all the competition and at a great price. He has been playing up a year or two which has helped him prepare for the high school level. As for the referee’s, at the older level many of the refs also ref for AIA during the high school season. People will always complain about refs so I pay no mind to that. The younger kids have refs that are in high school or junior high and are learning the craft. I wish more people brought their kids here instead of to overpriced clubs. Let them enjoy the game and prepare for the school season. Besides that the vast majority are not going to play college or pro ball. Great place to play without the stress of club coaches or traveling around the valley. As for bad coaches, people will be people. GYSA does address situations that occur. I have seen it happen during a game I was coaching when my opponent was escorted to the parking lot for berating the ref.

★Denzie TorresThis organization used to be great. Now they are just nickel and dime-ing everything. The coaches they treat as indentured servants. Professionalism is out the door. And the coaches they use, while some of them are great others (coach Butler) have no concept of sportsmanship or decency. He yells, curses and speaks inappropriately to kids, parents and refs. He also encourages his team to talk smack to the other team and yells when his own players are called out. He was removed for a season but now is back apparently with out any disciplinary action. DO yourself a favor. Look for another league. They don't care and you don't want that around your children.

Plenty of room for us to park and bring all of our gear and food. The GYSA organization and behind-the-scenes staff are extremely organized and friendly. The kiddos love it, too!
