The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art runs six weekly summer art camp sessions in downtown Augusta, each offered as a morning or afternoon block, with a discount for booking both halves of a day. Courses are medium-specific and taught in working studios: pottery on the wheel, figure drawing, watercolor still life, plein-air oil painting, digital photography, monoprinting and painting with paper. GHIA is Augusta's only independent nonprofit visual-arts school and contemporary art gallery, housed in the historic Nicholas Ware house and Walker-Mackenzie Studio, and has taught children since 1937.

A classic piece of Augusta history, and a thriving part of its art culture.

A little spartan on the artwork when we were there but nonetheless very interesting. The building has federalist details that are original. If you are in Augusta you must have a look.

Wonderful museum in town that hosts all sorts of art events and auctions. We've always had a great time contributing artwork for the different events and charity things. The people here are also really nice, and they often host events throughout the years for children and other groups of people. Please check them out

Great ceramics studio! I've taken the independent study ceramics course for a few sessions now. The studio has tons of tools, wheels, glazes, and other equipment, and the staff is incredibly helpful, and the classes are well-priced. This is a great place to unwind and get creative!
