Our cub scout pack came for Webelos camp. The scouts all had a blast and loved all the activities. Rappelling, climbing were big hits. The webelos adventures were a bit hectic to sign up for, but our scouts ended up getting to earn the pins they wanted - which included modular design, game design, aquanauts, castaway, cast iron chef, and more. Campsite locations were typical scout camp. Latrines, wash basin sink on the side. There were cement pads for the tents but our scouts opted to use those for "patios" instead. Two tent cement pads did have electricity (cpap users!). Lots of trees around that were suitable for hammock camping, so feel free to bring that. Due to staffing they didn't actually have open swim in the full swimmer area, nor could you take canoes out during that time. So make sure to check about options when your session is running to avoid sad scouts. Camp food was...meh. but that's to be expected. Hot coffee running all day for adults, salad bar at lunch and dinner. Toilets with running water are at mess hall, and on back side of pop/ice station by camp store. WARNING: limited cell reception. Plan ahead We could get texts and calls but not much else reliably...even the weather forecast. Download the Gerbe4 app ahead of time and don't plan on using scoutbook for advancement...it likely won't load. There is wifi at the business center if needed, but speed is questionable. Camp store has lots of essentials. Including refillable sushi mugs. My fav was the bandana map of camp. Lots of shade!! We didn't need sunblock most of the time, and due to the sandy soil didn't have a lot of moisture so the bugs weren't too bad either. Good group of staff. Saw some familiar faces, and looking forward to a possible return visit.

Had a great time using the Gerber Scput Reservation (Camp Gerber / GSR) for a weekend campout. I have had many great experiences here as a youth attending summer camp and later as an adult leader bringing the troop here for camping and activities throughout the year. My son and i went for scout summer camp and had a blast! The camp workers were all awesome!!!! Our group had Otter and Arcade. They were so great with all the boys and girls! All of us adults got to be 12 again!! Great place all over!! Can't wait to go again!!

Good scout camp for those who prefer more of a wilderness feel. Camp is spread out through a nice forest which means you're walking a lot, which I prefer to being within eyeshot of lots of stations. I was a bit disappointed in the star gazing session where they favored curfew instead of a long gaze. I was also disappointed that they didn't have any kind of telescope or any other special equipment to really get the kids excited about astronomy. Other than that I enjoyed my time at camp. The staff was friendly and helpful with merit badge questions and seemed to be teaching effectively.
