Powered by GoogleWhile I appreciate many of the services offered by the YMCA, I had a very uncomfortable experience during my visit. Another member behaved inappropriately toward me by making unwanted sexual advances and physically groping me without my consent. He was also behaving strangely and appeared to be staring at me and other men in the locker room. He approached me and introduced himself as Tristan, stating that he works as a radio announcer. I believe the YMCA should take reports of harassment seriously and ensure that all members can use the facility without fear of inappropriate behavior. No one should have to experience unwanted physical contact while trying to enjoy the gym or its programs.
Have you tried EGym? Wow...what an experience. 10 machines twice per week, then go into the whirlpool to soothe your muscles and relax. Try walking a mile in the current pool and get a good workout. I've been going for almost 2 months, and I am in less pain and more mobile than when I started. All YMCA's should have a giant whirlpool like this one...the seniors need it!
All the workers we have came across are all helpful & nice. My husband has a disability & they don't discourage him to not do stuff. They actually know us by name & say Keith is a positive influence to others
This YMCA is fine. The gym is adequate. The pool is fine for the kids to play. If you’re trying to swim the lanes in the evening forget about it. The new batch of life guards are not good. They are always looking at their phones instead of the pool and they continually pull the lane lines out while there are swimmers in the lanes absolutely unsafe! The pool area is dirty and I know they say they have cleaning crew but the pool floor is always disgusting both the deck and pool floor. And there are areas that have clearly not been cleaned recently.
Tai Chi allows me to breathe easier, stretch easier, and helps my balance. Yoga helps my balance and calmness. The various trips have been very interesting and enjoyable.
